Craigmillar Castle (20 minutes by bus from edinburgh city)
On the 1st and 2nd April 2006, all the castles in Scotland went FREE for everyone. Therefore, I didn't miss the opportunity to visit several castles nearby Edinburgh. I've posted pictures of me in Edinburgh castle last week, and below are the photos of a smaller castle which is also located nearby the place I'm staying now. The entrance fee is £4.50 (I think) compared to £10.00+ for edinburgh castle. So, my advice is, if you want to visit Scotland and also short of money, come here when the castles are FREE. For your info, they will be free twice a year(somewhere in April and November). The dates vary so if I happen to know when they will be free again, I will inform you guys. Till then, enjoy the pics!
